Do's and Don'ts when Presenting to Executive Management

About the Meeting:

Many engineering managers think presenting to upper management is simply going in there and telling like it is! However it is only after they enter the lions’ den, they realize these are a special breeds of cats.   Presenting to upper management requires a tactful approach and there are definitely some do and don’ts if you want to come across correctly.  This presentation will address those common do and don’ts so you will not have learn the hard way in front of upper management!  This is especially true when presenting bad news!  

About the Speaker:

John Hoschette is a senior staff engineer with Lockheed Martin in Eagan, Minnesota. Over the past 27 years his career has covered such areas as developing infrared sensors for night vision, laser sensors for weapons, helmet mounted displays and fiber channel networks. John Holds a BSEE and MSEE degrees from the University of Minnesota as well as Business Administration Certificate.

John has worked at Honeywell, Loral and Lockheed Martin. John is a senior member of IEEE and has served IEEE organization in various leadership positions. John has published over 30 articles dealing with engineering career development. These articles have appeared in Today’s Engineer and Spectrum magazines. John has written a book entitled “Career Advancement and Survival for Engineers”, published by John Wiley & Sons.

Location: 

The meeting will be held in Room 41 at Dunwoody Institute at 818 Dunwoody Boulevard in Minneapolis. Park in the student parking lot across the driveway from the Institute, not the visitor spaces immediately next to the building. You will need to sign in at the front door and get a badge. Although not absolutely necessary, Dunwoody has asked that we get a list  of attendees to them ahead of time so please pre-register if  you can.

Feel free come a bit early and socialize before the meeting starts. If you wish to purchase food, there is a cafeteria at Dunwoody which closes at  6:00pm or you can bring your own food and eat in the student  lounge next to the cafeteria.
