The Twin Cities IEEE Engineering
Management Society Invites You to Attend:
Implementing Risk Management in Industry Today
Mark O. Waldof
Tuesday, March 26, 2002
6:30 pm until 8:00pm
Dunwoody Institute, Room 41
818 Dunwoody Boulevard
Minneapolis, MN.
About the Topic:
Risk
management is a commonly accepted aspect of project management but often
is less than fully implemented within many organizations. The key to full
implementation of this important management discipline is a combination of
processes, training, consulting, assessments and supporting resources that
are aligned in their content and which exist as an integrated package.
Many organizations will have a partial set of this overall risk management
infrastructure with the result that full implementation is not attained.
Mark will address the need for an overall infrastructure, define each
infrastructure element and discuss how each part of the infrastructure can
be implemented. Examples of the infrastructure will be presented including
a general process for risk management oriented to development projects,
examples of training materials, risk assessment vehicles and support
resources in the form of risk templates and data bases. A lessons learned
discussion will be included along with a question and answer session.
