About the Topic/ Outline:

Intelligent Business with Business Intelligence

Most Business and Technology decision makers are aware of the notion of BI (Business Intelligence).   Business Intelligence/Business Performance & Process Management (BI/BPPM) continually appears as one of the top 3 IT priorities when reviewing the major IT researchers and publications such as Gartner, Forrester, AMR, Aberdeen, CIO Insights, etc.  BI/BPPM focused acquisitions and product releases by Oracle, SAP, and Microsoft are in the news on a regular basis.  However, there’s still much mystery and confusion as to what BI/BPPM really is and the quantifiable value, if any, it can bring to organizations.  This presentation will help both IT Professionals and Business Users better understand what BI is about, and how to create immediate and sustainable business value, impact and relevance by aligning BI with critical operational and strategic priorities via the BI Success Model Framework and the BI Maturity Continuum.

About the Speaker:

Scott Maves – BI Practice Director, GNet Group

Scott has been involved with BI & BPPM for the past 10 years as a consulting practice manager working with the leading BI platforms such has Cognos, Business Objects, and Hyperion.  For the past two years he’s focused on the Microsoft BI platform at GNet Group, a Microsoft Gold Partner.  Prior to GNet Scott was a practice manager with Business Objects. Scott is also the President of the Twin Cities Microsoft BI-SIG (Special Interest Group).  Scott graduated from the University of Denver long before the original computer based BI tool (the spreadsheet) was available and the concept of an Information Worker existed.
