Date: Tuesday 23 Jun 2009 6:00 PM
Topic: Project Estimation
Presented by: Joseph Kestel
Location: Southdale Library - Helen Young Meeting Room
Schedule:
6:00 - 6:30 - Networking
6:30 - 7:30 - Presentation and Discussion
7:30 - 8:00 - Questions / Wrap up
Presentation Overview:
A key characteristic of any successful project is the ability of the project
team to establish a realistic estimate of time and cost of their project.
This can be a daunting task for busy teams and their project managers.
Fortunately, a variety of techniques are available to help the project
manager and the team make solid time and cost estimates such as: analogous
estimation, Delphi, and Bottom Up estimation. This presentation explores the
properties and limitations of a broad range of well-understood techniques
for project estimation. A master scenario will be provided to serve as a
basis for participants to practice these techniques.
Learning Objectives include:
* Understand the basic estimation techniques available
* Identify the advantages and disadvantages of each
* Explore the best use of each
