About the subject:
Review construction of the new GRE headquarters with LEED (Leadership in
Energy and Environmental Design) Platinum certification status and answer
questions regarding the project challenges associated with the facility.
Tour of the headquarters follows, highlighting all of the energy efficiency
systems employed within the facility.
About the speaker:
Gene Kotz
Senior Project Manager – Transmission Division for Great River Energy
Graduated form North Dakota State University on 1990 with a BSEE.
1990 – 1994 Worked for Virginia Power, as design engineer, electrical
supervisor, and operations in the transmission, distribution, and nuclear
divisions within the company.
1994 -1999: Senior Customer Project Manager working for Itron Inc. on the
installation of AMR (Automated meter reading systems) in the US and Canada.
1999 – Present: Senior Project Manager for Xcel Energy and Great River
Energy in the Transmission Divisions constructing, planning, and permitting,
lines and substations in Minnesota.

In Maple Grove. Head North 2 blocks to Elm Creek Blvd.
